Jiraan Privacy Policy
Jiraan is a community marketplace application for discovering and publishing local listings. This policy explains what information the Jiraan mobile application collects, how it is used, and the choices available to you.
Information we collect
- Account information: when you sign in, we may process your phone number and the display name, email address, profile photo, and address that you choose to provide.
- Listings and messages: information, photos, descriptions, location details, and other content you submit when creating or managing a listing.
- Location: approximate or precise device location only when you grant the relevant permission and use a location feature. You can disable permission in your device settings.
- Technical information: app and device information needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the service. Firebase services may process this information on our behalf.
How we use information
We use information to authenticate accounts, display listings, store photos and listing content, provide location features, respond to support requests, protect the marketplace from abuse, and maintain and improve Jiraan. We do not sell personal information.
Firebase and service providers
Jiraan uses Google Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore, Firebase Storage, and Firebase App Check to provide account, database, image-storage, and security functions. We may also use notification infrastructure to deliver notifications you request or enable. These providers process information according to their own terms and privacy practices.
Sharing
Information in a listing may be visible to other users as part of the marketplace. We share information with service providers only as needed to operate, secure, and support Jiraan, or when required by law. We do not share private account fields publicly unless you choose to publish them.
Retention and deletion
We retain account and listing information while it is needed to provide the service, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. You can request deletion of your account and associated personal information from the app where that feature is available, or by contacting us. Some information may remain where retention is legally required or necessary for security and fraud prevention.
Children
Jiraan is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided information.
Security
We use reasonable administrative and technical safeguards, including Firebase security controls. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so please do not include unnecessary sensitive information in a listing.
Your choices
You may review or update information you provide, control location permission through your device, and request account deletion. You can also contact us about privacy questions or requests.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when the app or legal requirements change. The effective date above will be updated when a new version is published.
